El tenista argentino Guido Pella quedó eliminado del Masters 1000 de Madrid, al perder hoy en la segunda ronda con el suizo Stanislas Wawrinka por 6-3 y 6-4.
Pella, nacido en Bahía Blanca y ubicado en el puesto 26 del ranking mundial de la ATP, perdió con Wawrinka (34) luego de una hora y media de juego.
El argentino, de 28 años, había logrado una buena victoria ayer en su debut sobre el ruso Andreii Medvedev (14) por 6-2, 1-6 y 6-3, pero hoy estuvo lejos de repetir su actuación en la Caja Mágica madrileña y fue superado por Wawrinka, un tenista de nivel “top” que de a poco se reinserta en los primeros planos.
Pella, campeón este año en San Pablo, finalista en Córdoba, semifinalista en Buenos Aires y cuartofinalista en Montecarlo, Barcelona y Múnich, continuará su gira sobre polvo de ladrillo a partir del domingo próximo en el Masters 1000 de Roma.
El Masters 1000 de Madrid repartirá premios por 7.279.270 euros, tiene como máximo favorito al serbio Novak Djokovic (1) y el campeón defensor es el alemán Alex Zverev (4).
