Un fuerte accidente tuvo lugar en la noche del martes, en la ruta provincial 1, a la altura del ingreso sur de Helvecia. Un camión y un auto chocaron produciéndose la muerte de uno de los conductores.

Sobre las 19:30 del martes, por causas que se investigan, un camión Scania chocó a un Fiat Uno que quedó prácticamente destruido. El ocupante del vehículo de menor rodado, de nombre Horacio Yossen murió al instante. La víctima fatal era vecino de Campo del Medio.

Trabajaron en el lugar bomberos de Cayastá y Helvecia.
